Spring Forward to Uncorked

Hi there!

In honor of Daylight Savings time here is a "spring forward" blog. Uncorked JUNKMARKET Style, Spring Edition is all about just that…Spring. If you love organics, creative planters, goods for your garden and vintage furniture for the great outdoors then you won't be disappointed with what you uncover at Uncorked. I know the dealers onboard are busily collecting, revamping, painting and vignetting to bring you a one-of-a-kind shopping experience. I too am putting together the look and feel of the JUNKMARKET show displays. How do I start? I need to do something creative to get into the spirit of things. I've been curating a collection of vintage ceramics that I believe are hot for spring and summer vintage decor. To get my creative juices flowing yesterday I did a "spring forward" tabletop utilizing some of them.

Here are just three of the vintage ceramics pieces I am hoarding for Uncorked. I'm liking simple and clean. I chose soft gray and white so the flowers would take center stage. I dressed just one of the pieces for a "pop" and left the others naked. Grasses are one of my favorite organic elements to work with. They are pliable and can maintain their fresh look outside of water for quite some time.

Whites, whites, and whites...mixed with shades of gray, green and pink. A beautiful color way for Easter, Mother's Day, a May Day celebration or just a spring or summer girlfriend gathering. This could even work for a wedding! Its all about options folks. Flowers used are Hydrangea, tulips and thistle.

Feel free to add craft products you have around the house to add to your vignette. LOVE the little ball of string utilized as a personal bud vase and the cheap paint brush dolled up with craft paper adds a bit of whimsy. And there you have it folks. Now that I have been inspired I can go in search of more nifty-noodle ceramic pieces to unleash at uncorked. Have a great day!

Live from the Philly satellite…Uncorked JUNKMARKET Style, Spring Edition!

Hello Fellow Uncorked Enthusiasts,

Julie will be ready for spring at Uncorked!
Julie Grobe, Simply Home Co.
Someone who shall remain nameless….OK, maybe not. Miss Julie Grobe of Simply Home Co. suggested I write a blog about the show behind the scenes. So If you don't think you get enough information from me already…now you get to hear even more. Woot, woot…you lucky dogs! Miss Julie, by the way is one of our uber talented dealers at Uncorked and is the a "neighborhood" ring leader. For those of you who are new to our shows we set things up a little differently than most. Instead of stacking vendors one on top of another we endeavor to create unique blocks of dealers sac one different than the next. I'm thinking we should  have neighborhood competitions. Hmmm…what say you?

Currently I am in Philly. The best part about what I do is that much of the time I can do my work from anywhere in the country. I know what you're thinking. Why the H E double hockey sticks is she in Philadelphia when she could be basking in the sun on a tropical island? Well, for now I'll have to keep that under wraps, but hopefully be able to tell you at some point in the near future. Keep your fingers crossed! Other than work, I've been having fun in the city, eating way too much food and have uncovered some awesome vintage finds. The Lancaster area is ripe for the picking! Do you like where and with whom I've been shopping? Only kidding!  I have found so many cool things here that I may be driving a rental truck back instead of flying.

While I've been running the Uncorked satellite office in Philadelphia my Uncorked teammates have been very busy indeed back in Minnesota. My cell phone doesn't work properly in the home where I am staying so we have codes on when to call. It's a wonderful world! Marge has been busy making floor plans….multiple floor plans. Just when you think you have it just right something comes up. It's the nature of the beast and we want it to be just right for you. I hate to break it to Marge, but the likelihood of the venue map changing again is pretty darn good! Meanwhile in Minneapolis, Miss Lanette has been a busy beaver designing the postcards and making sure the JMS events site is up to date. She also has to be ready at a moment's notice to help me with some silly technical question I might have. I appreciate this as it keeps me from throwing my computer against the wall! 9 times out of 10 when I have trouble with my computer it's user error. Just saying…. Two other Uncorked ladies ( I love saying that) , Donna Hiland from a Side of Southern and Julie Grobe of Simply Home Co. have been enlisted to help with marketing ideas and finding new, cool dealers for the show. It's all in the mix! A great big thanks to all of these lovely ladies!

Before I let you go, at least for the moment I wanted  to show you  a true project beauty shot from  Melissa Klema of Adourn. At Uncorked you can expect to find beautifully painted and refinished vintage furniture along with many different types of vintage wares, handmades, jewelry, skincare, organics and artwork. It's going to be a beautiful market and we hope you will join us. Staye tuned for more behind the scenes and if you have any questions about the show please leave them in the comments. Take care ad I will talk to you soon,

Sue
